Case: ladies’ backpacks for a US client
A US client came to us needing women’s backpacks — a fashion-led product where the material, stitching quality, and hardware finish matter as much as the price. Sourcing this from China without someone on the ground is where most buyers lose money: photos look perfect, samples look perfect, and the production run is a different product.
We shortlisted factories in the Guangzhou and Shiling leather goods cluster, compared samples side by side, and stayed on site through production. The result was a repeatable supply line rather than a one-off purchase.
What we source in bags and luggage
- Women’s handbags, totes, shoulder bags
- Backpacks — fashion, laptop, travel, school
- Luggage and trolley cases
- Cosmetic and toiletry bags
- Custom packaging, dust bags, hangtags
What we handle for you
- Material selection — PU, genuine leather, nylon, canvas, recycled fabrics, with honest advice on how each behaves at your price point.
- MOQ negotiation — most factories quote high by default. We push it down, or combine your SKUs to reach a workable quantity.
- Branding — logo application (debossing, printing, metal plate), custom zipper pulls, linings, and retail packaging.
- Compliance and labelling — country of origin, fibre content, care labelling, and US state requirements such as California Prop 65 where relevant.
- Inspection before payment — stitch density, hardware function, colour consistency across the run, carton packing.
Shipping considerations
Bags are light but bulky, so freight cost is driven by volume rather than weight. We plan carton dimensions and container loading before you confirm the order, because a small change in carton size can change your landed cost per unit more than a few cents on the factory price.
